Privacy note

What we collect. When you join DefyOdds Connect we collect your first name, email, injury, stage of recovery, optional sport, city and country, your matching preference, and anything you choose to write in the optional story box. The contact form collects your name, email and message.

Why. Only to introduce you to people going through a similar recovery, and to reply to messages you send.

Who sees it. When you're matched, the other person receives your first name, email, injury, stage, sport and location (city and country), and you receive theirs. Your story is never shared with matches; only Michelle Yeap, who runs DefyOdds, sees it. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.

Your choices. Nothing is shared until you confirm your email. Every match email has a "Remove me" link, which deletes your details right away. You can also ask for removal through the contact page.

Age. DefyOdds Connect is for people 18 and older.

Be kind and stay safe. Matches are other members of the public. Only share what you're comfortable with, and remember that peer support isn't medical advice. Always follow your own care team's guidance.

Sharing your story. When you submit a story through the Share your story form, your name, email, injury, sport, location and story are emailed to Michelle and are not stored on the site. Nothing is published without your approval, and you can ask for your submission to be deleted at any time.

Where it's stored. Your details are stored securely with Cloudflare, and emails are sent through Resend.
