MIKO FOGARTY is an internationally renowned ballerina who starred in the award-winning ballet documentary, First Position. Miko became a social media sensation, and now has over 4.8 million views on YouTube.

At the age of 16, she won Gold at the Moscow International Ballet Competition, one of the most prestigious dance events in the world. After dedicating her entire life to ballet, and joining the corps of Birmingham Royal Ballet, she decided to change directions in life. Now, she’s a student at UC Berkeley, majoring in integrative biology in hopes of going to med school.

Join us as we explore Miko’s journey, where she takes us through her experiences in the ballet world, and the injury which allowed her to really discover who she was and what she wants to do with her life.

DR. PAUL MARKS is the Medical Director for the Toronto Raptors, as well as the Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sunnybrook Hospital.

He has a special interest in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and reconstruction of the shoulder and knee and has helped a ton of people make successful comebacks over the years. He holds grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Canadian Arthritis Network for research in predicting factors for developing arthritis in the knee. He is part of the multidisciplinary team studying cytokine and biomarker imaging and outcome measures in patients at risk for developing arthritis.
